The striking Pen y Fan stands tall as the highest peak of the Brecon Beacons in South Wales. Its name, derived from the Welsh language, translates to 'the summit of the summit', a fitting title for this grand mountain. It is a reminder of the beauty and power of nature and a source of awe and inspiration.

This is a fascinating formation of Old Red Sandstone laid down during the Devonian period.

I really like the way the path draws your eye up to the plateau (?) and then the deep shadow to the left of it! I’m no geologist obviously, haa.
