Wendover Canal III

My latest painting, "Wendover Canal III", is an ode to the beauty of the Grand Union Canal in Buckinghamshire. I was inspired to create this piece during a winter walk along the canal, as the crisp blue sky and the gentle winter light created a stunning vista of this picturesque scene. The sun was positioned just behind a short tree, casting a warm glow on the canal waters and creating a breathtaking sight. As an artist, I was captivated by the natural beauty of the area and felt compelled to capture it in my painting. I used a freer style with confident brushstrokes and bright colours to convey the sense of movement and energy that I experienced during my walk. The repetition of this subject matter has allowed me to deepen my connection with the canal and its surrounding landscape.
