An early morning walk near Weston Turville inspired this little painting. The foggy weather front is replaced by the blue sky. This is a reworked painting I wasn’t satisfied with, the contrast between the lower-key values at the bottom of the painting and the sky seems to work better now.
My favourite subject, clouds. I really enjoyed working on this little painting! Inspired by a photo taken a few months ago, I applied a first tonal layer over a board stained with some burnt sienna followed by some quick free brush marks for the highlights and “details” using a filbert. Enjoy!
